He is shown above with President Richard Nixon (1913-1994) on that Date, as he is about to Address America; after being selected as The Vice President to succeed Spiro Agnew of Maryland. President Nixon was deeply mired in World Affairs, combined with an eroding situation over the Watergate Scandal, when suddenly it became necessary for Vice President Spiro Agnew to Resign, as a result of Corruption Charges. Beneath a Beautiful Engraving of The White House, Gerald R. Ford has Inscribed in full, as well as Added his Term of Office “8/9/74 -- 1/20/77" and President Richard M. Nixon has, surprisingly, Signed in Full and added the Term of his Incumbency, "1/20/69–8/9/74".
The last thing Mr. Amyx expected, when he Asked a Secret Service Friend, in close proximity to Both Presidents, is that Richard Nixon would actually write the requested Infamous Resignation Date - "8/9/74". Following a courteous, in person, request from the U.S. Secret Service Agent it was done.
In future years, Richard M. Nixon went on to write several important historical volumes, as well as to Counsel President’s Ford, Reagan and Bush. the meetings were usually via telephone, or sometimes President Nixon was brought into The White House Surreptitiously - To meet with the then Incumbent President.

Gerald R. Ford went on to be a Trusted and Competent President, as well as to be our Longest Living President. After being Hospitalized 4 times in 2006, he Passed Away in his Home on December 26, 2006. President Ford Lived to an Older Age (93) than any President of The United States - In American History.
