Daniel Boone (1734 -1820) was an American Frontiersmen, Trapper, Surveyor, and Pioneer Extraordinaire. Featured below is a near Mint Condition Land Survey, accomplished by Boone, in Kentucky. It is dated June 11,1787 - when Daniel Boone was Deputy Surveyor of Kentucky. Any imperfections observed on Photograph #3 below are due Totally to camera flash glare.
ARCHIVALLY FRAMED DANIEL BOONE 1787 KENTUCKY SURVEY - THE RALEIGH DEGEER AMYX COLLECTION
The Drawing of the actual Kentucky Survey is fully illustrated and was accomplished by Daniel Boone himself. He wrote, in part, " survaid 487 acres of land......Daniel Boone D. S.". Daniel Boone fought during the Revolutionary war, then with great difficulty worked his way into Kentucky as one of the earliest Trailblazers. Eventually Boone became a Legislator, Sheriff, and Official Surveyor.
DANIEL BOONE - A FEARLESS MAN SOMEHOW ALWAYS IN PERPETUAL MOTION
Daniel Boone was no Mythic figure in American history. He was real. This was one brave man. Careful study of his accomplishments, lead to the conclusion that Boone was an American figure whose deeds often bordered on Heroism that would be difficult to ever exaggerate. Daniel Boone was once partially Scalped in Battle with Native Americans - And as a result, in perhaps Boone's only deference to Vanity, tended to nearly always wear a wig or a hat.
A VIVID CLOSE-UP OF A SURVEY ACCOMPLISHED IN KENTUCKY 1787, ENTIRELY IN THE HAND OF THE LEGENDARY DANIEL BOONE
Important Historic Kentucky related material, Authored by Daniel Boone is Scarce in any form; but exceptionally so when a Rare one-page Land Survey is written entirely in the hand of this American Pioneer Extraordinaire. The above - 1787 Daniel Boone Survey in Kentucky - is an Esteemed Addition to The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx (a.k.a.) as The American Heritage Collection.

Nancy and Ronald Reagan, after close study, chose absolutely Stunning Official 1982 White House China. Several examples of their Dramatic State Dinner Service can be found in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx…… Generally accepted as one the Top-Two Collectors of Official White House China in The United States. This White House China Collection has often been referred to as The American Heritage Collection.
NANCY & RONALD REAGAN CHOSE THIS STUNNING EXAMPLE AS THEIR 1982 OFFICIAL WHITE HOUSE CHINA
The Reagan China arrived at the White House in 1982, after being selected to be manufactured by Lenox, of Trenton, New Jersey. With only one exception, The Lyndon B. Johnson's China, Lenox has been chosen as the Official supplier of White House China since Woodrow Wilson's beautiful Lenox China pattern in 1918.

IT TOOK NINE SEPARATE FIRINGS OF GILT BEFORE THE PRESIDENTIAL ARMS TOOK ON SUCH A MAGNIFICENT 3-D EFFECT
The Scarlet Red color was selected specifically by First Lady Nancy Reagan; in part for her fondness of Red. Also, Scarlet Red provided a bright accent to the white paneled walls as well as the Gilded accessories of the White House State Dining Room. Mrs. Reagan personally approved the sketches for each and every Stunning piece........and even made the final decision about how the Golden Ribbed Banding should be appropriately as well as elegantly applied.
The gorgeous Presidential Arms, in the dramatic center of the Service Plate, was hand-applied in raised gold paste. An unheard of 40 separate handlings; and an equally unheard of 9 separate Gilt Firings were required to create this Magnificient Historic Example. The Ronald and Nancy Reagan Official White House Service, for 220 people, came in at a cost of $210,399.00. However unfairly, some members of the press had a field day with this. There must have been little other news for them to report because some weighed in heavily on the Reagans over this cost. Was the media criticism fair? Not really! For you see, this Offical White House China Service was actually paid for by contributions from friends of the President and First Lady.

THE PRESIDENT AND FIRST LADY ENJOY EACH OTHER'S COMPANY ON A WHITE BENCH ON THE SOUTH LAWN OF THE WHITE HOUSE
After all was said and done the historic fact leans toward this: Perhaps no other First Family ever left such an appealing selection of Official White House China for the permanent use and Collection of The White House than Nancy and Ronald Reagan. Absolutely Stunnning!

Early in 1861, Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln discussed the important selection of their, soon to be, Official White House China. Mary Todd Lincoln, (1818–1882), is believed to be the very first, First Lady to play an Assertive role in choosing White House China & Furnishings for The Executive Mansion. The Lincoln's selected an impressive and historic choice. A Total Classic! The President and First Lady definitely made a statement. This recent discovery of 1861 Lincoln White House China, after a 30 year quest, finally made its way to The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection (A.K.A.) The American Heritage Collection.
RECENTLY DISCOVERED ABRAHAM AND MARY TODD LINCOLN DINNER PLATE - IN ALL IT'S STUNNING - SOLFERINO - SPLENDOR
This State Dinner Service was French; imported and decorated by The E. V. Haughwout Company, New York. Mr. Haughwout and Talented Staff hand-painted the Eagle and Clouds, the Gilt decoration as well as the color of Solverino (Royal Purple). The initial order of which this Stunning Lincoln Plate is one, was for 190 Official pieces. Mrs. Lincoln's Elegant Choice of White House China has been much appreciated by all First Families; as well as being coveted by advanced collectors for 150 years.
PRESIDENT ABRAHAM LINCOLN
At the beginning of the 2nd term of the Abraham Lincoln Administration, Mary Todd Lincoln ordered, with a tone of urgency, the below Buff set of French Haviland China for use at the Executive Mansion. This China also became known as Official White House China. It was to feature more modest decoration and to be more simple in design than The First Lady's previously ordered Elegant Solferino (Royal Purple) China of 1861. Only three months prior to the Assassination of President Lincoln, did this Buff China Set finally arrive at The White House. When Andrew Johnson assumed the Presidency, the Buff China below was, in very specific writing, turned over to that Administration. Today, a number of examples of the above Solverino (Royal Purple) China remain at The White House as well as at the Smithsonian Institution and The Library of Congress. Perhaps the best Lincoln Buff China example of the entire Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln order can be seen below.
RARE 10" SERVING BOWL OF THE LINCOLN BUFF CHINA
The above Lincoln Buff China is in The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection. It features a Rare 10" Buff covered serving piece. Mrs. Lincoln's urgent order was for this Wide Band Buff and Gold on White Porcelain. There was a Particular Hue to the Buff on the Original White House order. The elegant serving dish featured here was known in the original early 1865 Lincoln Buff Order as one of just four serving pieces described as: " A vegetable dish with cover." The above pictured attractive example survives intact; and in near pristine condition. This Stunning Vegetable Dish came to The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection via Historian and Author, Robert Doares, of Williamsburg, Virginia.
Prior to its release to The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection, the Buff China rested at The White House so that the Graceful Lid, in particular, could be examined by William Allman, The White House Curator. There, in The White House, the two Gentlemen (Allman and Doares) met to discuss the Lincoln Buff China order; and Specifically, to discuss the Two Primary issues: 1. To Confirm, as closely as possible, the appropriate shade of the Hue of the Buff and; 2. To determine that the Maker of this Lincoln Acquisition to The White House China Collection, in early 1865, was indeed the Haviland Company. After Doares and Allman's caring and dual examination, this Lincoln Buff Vegetable Serving Bowl and Lid was enroute to Raleigh DeGeer Amyx for inclusion into his Official White House China Collection.

Charles Lindbergh (1902 1974) - featured is an Over-sized 9" x 12" Signed Photograph of "Lucky Lindy". Lindbergh is considered to be one of the most Renowned Navigators in International History. In early 1927, a wealthy American offered $25,000, (An Eye Popping approximately $500,000 in today's currency), to the First person on Earth that could Fly solo, non-stop from New York City to Paris, France. Several well-known Aviators lay poised to accept the Challenge. A few died and some were seriously injured. However, another well known Aviator, Charles Lindbergh, accepted the Dangerous Challenge and in May 1927, he took off in the "Spirit of St. Louis", without even a Parachute, so that he could have added one extra gas tank - which would even block a portion of his Important forward vision out of the cockpit window. Another of Lindbergh's Brazen Acts of Courage.
LEGENDARY AVIATOR - 9 X12" SIGNED PHOTO - CHARLES LINDBERGH
Charles Lindbergh also had all other non-essentials thrown off the "Spirit of St. Louis" before this takeoff. It is hard to imagine today that anyone could head off into near Total Darkness without the aid of Navigation Equipment and then fly 31+ consecutive hours with Zero Sleep. Lindbergh took a Bold step but somehow he was determined to make it happen - and this he did.
A VIVID CLOSE-UP OF THE SIGNATURE OF CHARLES LINDBERGH AS SEEN ON THE ABOVE TOP SIGNED 9x12" OVERSIZED PHOTOGRAPH
Also Lindbergh was expected to somehow cross Newfoundland, Greenland and the Barren 2,000 mile Choppy Atlantic Ocean and maneuver himself into a Safe-Landing in Paris. "Lucky Lindy" was flying a Ryan Monoplane, named "Spirit of St. Louis", which we picture in this feature, and a crowd of an estimated 50,000 Parisians were there to greet Charles Lindbergh - and the admiring throngs of Parisians almost Trampled Charles "Lucky" Lindbergh to Death - the soon to be Most Famous Man in the World.
CHARLES LINDBERGH - A COURAGEOUS AMERICAN THAT SOARED INTO AVIATION HISTORY IN 1927
For this Extraordinary Achievement, Charles Lindbergh was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Following this enormous achievement, Lindbergh was besieged by the Press and by all other human species; as now he was, whether he liked it or not, the Most Famous Person on the Planet.
CHARLES LINDBERGH - THE MOST FAMOUS MAN ON THE PLANET
Later, the Stubborn Charles Lindbergh was to cross the path of no return when he made several positive statements about Adolph Hitler and Nazi-ism in the 1930s. For such words, The President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, found them unforgivable and when Lindbergh Volunteered, at the age of 42, to serve in the Army Air Corps, during World War II, the United States Government refused him. But the Persistent Lindbergh was awarded a contract, as a Consultant to the Ford Motor Company and the United Aircraft Corporation. Eventually, "Lucky Lindy" even wound up flying 50 Combat Missions over the Pacific, during World War 11, once engaging in a Dogfight with a Japanese Fighter.
CHARLES LINDBERGH - "THE ADVENTURER" - BY RENOWNED ARTIST - RICHARD KRAUSE
Later Lindbergh served as a Consultant in the United States Department of Defense; and the ever persistent Charles Lindbergh became a Brigadier General of the United States Air Force Reserve, in 1954. But one trait that Charles Lindbergh would never give up was a Major Stubborn Streak combined with streaks of questionable moral lapses in personal judgement - a Series of Unfaithful Relationships.
CHARLES LINDBERGH - "WE DID IT" - NEW YORK TO PARIS IN 31 PLUS HOURS - A POPULAR POSTER IN IT'S DAY
In addition to his wife, Anne Morrow Lindbergh, with whom he had 6 children, one of whom, Charles Lindbergh, Jr., was Kidnapped and Murdered. Following this, Lindbergh went on to have Numerous Affairs. And each of these was kept quiet by him as well as by the different women involved. As a result of his multiple affairs Charles Lindbergh apparently became the Father of 7 different children by 3 different women - with all of these Romantic Liaison's in Germany. All women remained silent until their death and then, recently, irrefutable Evidence came to the forefront. Even a DNA test was done on one of the children of one of his German mistresses; and with a 97.7% certainty - The Father was declared to be Charles Lindbergh.

The First-Class Beer Glass, made Especially for President Franklin D. Roosevelt, was for the purpose of Celebrating the date that certain Alcoholic Beverages became Legal within The United States. This was as a result of the near ending of Prohibition. Actually, it was a little bit more complicated than that. Why? Because the final ending of Prohibition involved a series of Legislative agreements, compromises and maneuvers. These steps would soon reach final agreement to End Prohibition – a rather complicated State and Federal Political process which we will get into just a bit later on.
IMPORTANT BEER GLASS OF PRESIDENT FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT - SIGNIFYING THE NEAR END OF PROHIBITION
The President's approximately 5 1/2" tall heavy Crystal Beer Glass has a design around the upper middle with what appears to be rather like thumb prints, but to the hand feels like knobs. Around the middle is a cut diamond pattern in three significant lines. At the top is an etched Shield or Crest, with the imposing Initials "FDR". Above this Impressive Crest, and Deeply Etched into the President's Glass, is the date "April 7, 1933". This is a Crystal Glass of some Significant Design as well as Quality. This Important piece of American History is now in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx.
A VIVID CLOSE-UP OF - THE FDR AND DATED PORTION - OF THE PRESIDENTS OWN BEER GLASS WHICH SIGNIFIES THE NEAR END OF THE REPEAL OF THE 18TH AMENDMENT
There is Impeccable Provenance accompanying this piece of History, once owned and used by one of the Two Greatest People of the 20th Century – the other being Sir Winston Churchill. This Relic's Lineage traces directly from Franklin Delano Roosevelt, on April 7,1933, to White House Maître de' Charles Ficklin - a Permanent and longtime Career Staff Member of The White House. Mr. Ficklin, (Pictured just below - at work in The White House), realized the obvious Importance of this Historical FDR Relic, and protected it for many Decades.
THE FICKLIN BROTHERS - CHARLES AND JOHN FICKLIN - BOTH BROTHERS SERVED FOR LONG PERIODS AS WAITERS AND THEN AS WHITE HOUSE MATRE DE's - FORTUNATELY CHARLES FICKLIN RETRIEVED THE FDR 1933 GLASS - THE FICKLIN'S ARE PICTURED HERE - AT WORK IN THE WHITE HOUSE - AT THE TIME OF THE DREADFUL ASSASSINATION OF PRESIDENT JOHN F. KENNEDY
The 21st Amendment, which Repealed nationwide Prohibition, explicitly gives States the right to restrict or ban the purchase or sale of alcohol. This led to a patchwork of American Laws, in which alcohol was sold legally in some but not all towns or counties within a particular state. After the Repeal of the Constitutional Amendment, some states continued to enforce Prohibition laws. Actually, it was never illegal to drink liquor in the America. But it was illegal to sell it.
A DETERMINED CHIEF EXECUTIVE - FRANKLIN DELANO ROOSEVELT
On March 23, 1933, President Franklin D. Roosevelt Signed into Law an Important Amendment to the Volstead Act. This Action, at last, allowed the manufacture and sale of "3.2 Beer"and light wines. As earlier stated, it was a long process on the legal front to totally end Prohibition. It was not easy. This entangled web of work in Congress, as well as within The Executive Branch and the mind of FDR, had been in process for many months.
Finally, the 18th Amendment was Repealed later that same year, with Ratification of the 21st Amendment coming on December 5, 1933. But when FDR and other Senior Legislators were Celebrating in the White House, by drinking a 3.2 beer, they knew that they were in the final throes of over throwing the 18th Amendment, which however well intended, ended up increasing Crime in America. This Major Criminal Involvement in Prohibition, for a decade or more, resulted in endless Violent Death as well as the illegal funneling of Mega-Millions of Dollars throughout the United States. It had been a hard time for America and although not expected, Prohibition had been Excruciatingly Profitable for many enterprising Criminals.
The President's Toast on April 7, 1933 Signified that The End of Prohibition was a tiny step away. This Repeal of the 18th Amendment and 1933 Enactment of the 21st Amendment was a Major Legislative Accomplishment. And President Franklin Delano Rooosevelt was enthusiastic about Celebrating, on April 7, 1933, the near end of what he and so many other had been pushing for. Thus Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Beer "Toast", with this Handsome personalized Beer Glass, which is now in The Raleigh Degeer Amyx Collection (a.k.a.) The American Heritage Collection.

Total Press Scrutiny was avoided by President George W. Bush, with the Intriguing late arrival date of the 2009 Official White House China, by Lenox, Inc. By arriving during the George W. Bush Administration, with only 9 days to go until Inauguaration Day - January 20, 2009, Near Total Press Attention was Focused on Barack and Michelle Obama, as opposed to Scrutinizing each and everything that the Overzealous Press seem to specialize in – that being - looking hither and yon for every tidbit of Bush activities that the Press thought it was their duty to dig up - even if their attention might better be focused on more Important Domestic and International matters. But, when all was said and done the President and First Lady spent zero tax-payer dollars on this Half-Million Dollar Porcelain purchase. All 320 Official State Dinner Pieces were bought and paid for by Donations from Friends of President George W. Bush.

Featured in this writing, from The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection (a.k.a.) The American Heritage Collection, is the Elegant White House China of America's 11th President - James K. Polk.
HISTORIAN AND COLLECTOR - RALEIGH DEGEER AMYX 2010
President Polk and his First Lady, Sarah Childress Polk, received at The White House this Impressive 9.5" Official Presidential Dinner Plate, in 1846. There were ONLY 36 in this Official White House China Order. And, no subsequent President ever reordered The White House China Service of Polk. This Impressive Presidential Service was manufactured by Edouard D. Honore' of Champroux, France. Take Special Note of the "American Shield" at the top center – the very First time Red, White & Blue colors were ever used on Official White House State Dinner China. Shortly after Polk's Inauguration on March 3,1845, President Polk asked his close friend, William Corcoran (1798 to 1888), to Supervise the furnishings of The White House. Thus it was Mr. Corcoran that spearheaded the purchase of the President's new Official State Dinner Service in 1846.
THE ORNATELY ELEGANT WHITE HOUSE CHINA & 9.5" DINNER PLATE OF PRESIDENT JAMES K. POLK - IN 1846
The Polk White House China Service decoration includes, on the border of each Impressive Porcelain Piece, a "Polychrome Shield", of the United States, behind the National Motto, "E. Pluribis Unum", on the eye-catching floating Ribbon/Banner.
A VIVID CLOSE-UP OF THE AMERICAN SHIELD AND ORNATE RIM OF THE 1846 PRESIDENTIAL SERVICE OF JAMES K. POLK
Also, recently uncovered in The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection is the Exquisite James K. Polk 1846 - 9" Dessert Plate – Mfg. in France & once again made by Edouard Honore' of Champroux, France. Again, take special note of the - Red White & Blue " American Seal" - at the top center of the plate. The Polk Dessert Service displays a Green Border with the American Shield, within Gold Borders; each with a hand-painted botanically accurate State Flower - each representing the individual States of America and featured in the center of each Impressive piece. It was in March of 1846, that the new Official Presidential Service arrived at The White House to begin its First Official use in The East Room.
THE BREATHTAKING 9" DESSERT PLATE FROM THE POLK PRESIDENTIAL SERVICE OF 1846 - WITH HAND-PAINTED STATE FLOWERS - REPRESENTING THE 36 AMERICAN STATES
President James K. Polk served only One-Term as our President. But that Presidential Service is considered, by a host of American Historians, to be one of the most Impressive of them all. This was a President that set firm goals and made concrete promises. Polk delivered on each and every one of them. That has not gone unnoticed by Historians. Unfortunately, President James K. Polk lived only 103 days after his One-Term as our President. Thus, he was not around nearly long enough to continue his legacy or highlight his own achievements. It was left to other Americans to offer up such a Clarion Call, to set his Historic Record straight.

Benjamin and Caroline Scott Harrison, in 1892, selected the featured 9.5" enchanting State Dinner Plate - manufactured by Tressemanes & Vogt, Limoges. Caroline Scott Harrison's arrival to The White House, in 1889, brought to the position of First Lady a Gifted woman of many Cultural Interests.
A GIFTED FIRST LADY - CAROLINE SCOTT HARRISON
The First Lady had an appreciation of Historical Relics connected with White House History. And it was The First Lady's ambition to make The White House a comfortable and stylish residence for a President while at the same time preserving furniture, silver, glass and China of Past Administrations. Mrs. Harrison was also a Gifted Artist in her own right who especially delighted in China Painting. And now First Lady Harrison was ready to make a Dynamic Statement about her own Contribution to The White House China Collection. And Caroline Scott Harrison did do - in a Major Way. Featured below and in near Mint Condition is a Rare Poem, as written by one of the Fathers of Texas, Sam Houston. This archivally framed piece is presently in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx (a.k.a.) The American Heritage Collection. Written in a Bold Script, Sam Houston's Poem reads, "Texas....Woman is lovely to the sight, as gentle as the dews of eve, as bright as morning's earliest light – and spotless as the snows of heaven......Sam Houston".
SAM HOUSTON - A FATHER OF TEXAS - A GREAT AMERICAN ICON
Sam Houston (1793 1863) was a success as a Lawyer, Politician, Soldier, and as a Leader of the Movement for Texas Independence. Houston was also concerned with the plight of the Native American Indian. In 1835, Houston was chosen as Commander of the Texas Army in its bid for Independence from Mexico. In 1836, it was Sam Houston who met Mexican General Santa Anna in a Decisive Texas Battle. Sam Houston Captured General Santa Anna and along with that Won The Independence of Texas.
A VIVID CLOSE-UP OF THE RARE POEM - AS WRITTEN BY TEXAN SAM HOUSTON
Sam Houston was Elected First President of the Republic of Texas. In 1845, Texas was admitted to the Union. Houston was then the First man from Texas to be Elected to the United States Senate. In 1859, Houston became Governor of Texas. Sam Houston, against the majority opinion of most Texans, fought hard to prevent Texas from Seceding from the Union. For this, Sam Houston, was Deposed as Governor of Texas, in 1861, when he refused to Swear Allegiance to The Confederacy.
A FATHER OF TEXAS AND AN AMERICAN GREAT - SAM HOUSTON
Sam Houston's health deteriorated until finally he was struck with a severe chill which developed into a serious Pneumonia. Sadly, Houston passed away in 1863, before he could see his beloved Texas still a part of the United States of America. Sam Houston, died quietly with his devoted wife, Margaret by his side. Houston's last words were, "Texas, Texas. Margaret".

Simultaneously featured within this same presentation is the Official Service Plate, also Created by Lenox, for The U.S.S. Williamsburg. It is a Stunning 11.5" Service Plate. There were other pieces of suitable matching China that FDR ordered during World War II for The Presidential Yacht. Unfortunately, the April 12, 1945 sudden and untimely death of FDR meant that he would, sadly, never ever use or ever see this Gorgeous final U.S.S. Williamsburg Porcelain.
FDR PERSONALLY CHOOSES THIS STUNNING SERVICE PLATE FOR THE U.S.S. WILLIAMSBURG AND ULTIMATELY FOR CAMP DAVID
However, President Harry S. Truman immediately adopted it for his U.S.S. Williamsburg Presidential Yacht, were it remained and was used many times by him as he vacationed at his favorite Presidential Retreat in Key West. And it remained as the Official Service Plate on the Presidential Yacht until Dwight D. Eisenhower became President, in 1953. At that point, President Eisenhower Decommissioned this large and Famous Presidential Yacht.

Only the U.S.S. Williamsburg Service Plate had the Dramatic Encircling 13 Gold Stars, representing the 13 Original States. Following the Decommissioning of the Presidential Yacht, all of the U.S.S. Williamsburg China was taken to the Presidential Retreat, Camp David. There this Beautiful China remained, for many years, until finally being retired. Other Camp David China, also illustrating the Seal of the President of the United States arrived. However, it was really not until the Ronald Reagan Administration that Super Quality, Camp David China, Manufactured and Designed by Pickard, came into Official use. This Splendid China featured a Rustic Red and Gold Motif. Illustrated below, for those interested in the History of America, are close-up shots of the FDR White House China.

After a 200 year separation, the two rarest plates from the original official White House China order of James and Dolley Madison have been reunited. Raleigh DeGeer Amyx, noted American Historian and Collector has, after years of research, added the only pair of extremely rare lozenges, (diamond shaped), 9.5” serving dishes to his well-known and often exhibited White house China Collection (A.K.A.) The American Heritage Collection.
ONE OF ONLY TWO LOZENGES SHAPED SERVING
DISHES OF JAMES & DOLLEY MADISON
The original order of 1806, from Paris, France, for 231 pieces of Presidential China, by President James Madison and First Lady Dolley Madison, had been lost or destroyed, with the exception of only 29 remaining pieces. Assistant Curator, Grant Quertermous, of President Madison’s home, Montpelier, in Virginia, not far from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, along with Bill Allman, Curator of the White House, have compiled historic information of value, revealing that out of the original Madison porcelain order of 231 varied pieces, only 29 pieces survive. Only three of these porcelain pieces are presently at James Madison’s home. Only eight pieces reside at the White House. The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection has four of these rare Madison pieces, including the only pair of lozenges shaped porcelain White House dinnerware ever ordered by this Founding Father.

Curator Grant Quertermous of Madison’s Home, Montpelier, and Raleigh DeGeer Amyx, Historian and Collector, examining the two Rarest 1806 serving pieces of James and Dolley Madison
According to research, on the part of the White House, the Madison’s actually ordered their rare dinner service in 1806. During the Presidential term of James Madison, the British attacked the United States in what has since been known as the War of 1812. The attacking British invaders entered the White House and destroyed almost all within the Executive Mansion and set it ablaze. Existing White House china was also destroyed. Accordingly, the incumbent President, James Madison, instructed that the china he had officially used, as Secretary of State, now be used as Official White House China. There was no other alternative in 1814. After that this China became known as Official White House China and has been coveted by institutions, museums and advanced collectors ever since.

In this Presentation we present a Totally Hand-Sewn Presidential Limousine Flag, accomplished in 1952, especially for The President of The United States - President Harry S. Truman.
TOTALLY HAND-SEWN PRESIDENTIAL LIMOUSINE FLAG ACCOMPLISHED IN 1952 FOR HARRY S. TRUMAN
It is difficult to underestimate the Superior Workmanship and Beauty of an Authentic Presidential Flag (21" x 29.5") - unless one actually sees or holds it. in the early years Presidential Limousine Flags were the same exact quality as the Oval Office Flag. In addition to that, the older version Presidential Limousine Flag is much larger than a modern Presidential Flag of same sort. Today the Presidential Limousine Flags are all silk-screened, and Significantly lack in Quality in Major and Significant ways.
A CLOSE-UP OF THE PRESIDENTIAL LIMO FLAG DELIVERED TO THE WHITE HOUSE ON JUNE 25TH 1952
In addition, the above Presidential Flag is not one-sided: on the verso is a completely separate panel (in other words there are two original Presidential Flags attached back to back) with each and every stitch accomplished by hand. The Gifted Artist sews directly onto the fabric which is rayon or nylon and is fringed in Silk, accomplished with Gold and White heavy loop, threads.
A DAPPER PRESIDENT HARRY S. TRUMAN AS SEEN IN AT HIS KEY WEST PRESIDENTIAL RETREAT
Flags of this quality are always Officially Coded in a place not visible to the average person. This particular Presidential Flag has various Special Coding Numbers, purposely not revealed in this narrative. This Presidential Flag was hand-sewn in Philadelphia and it was designated for Delivery to the White House on June 25, 1952. Acoordingly, because of the close proximity to The Administration of Dwight D. Eisenhower, this Flag may very well have been used briefly during two Presidential Administrations. The Quality of this Presidential Limousine Flag is Absolutely Breathtaking.
PRESIDENT HARRY S. TRUMAN STROLLS ALONG WITH HIS SUCCESSOR DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER
The Presidential Limousine Flag was never ever mounted on the Presidential Limousine, unless the President was the passenger; and it is appropriate that it always be mounted on the Limousine's front left fender. The right fender is reserved for the American Flag. The Presidential Flag described and presented here is a Major Historical Relic to say the least. For over a quarter of a century ithis Stunning Flag has been in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx (a.k.a.) The American Heritage Collection.
