YES, THIS IS ONLY ONE BASEBALL BUT SIGNED BY THREE GREATS - PRESIDENT GEORGE H.W. BUSH - TED WILLIAMS - JOE DIMAGGIO

PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH - TED WILLIAMS - JOE DIMAGGIO - 1941 TO 1991 THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON
President George Bush – (1989-1993), a Devoted Sports Fan, Invited Joe DiMaggio (1914-1999) and Ted Williams (1918-2002) to The White House on July 9, 1991. The President’s Intention was to Honor these Legendary Baseball Players for their Stellar Achievements during the Pre-World War II 1941 Season. And in addition to that The President had something even more important to share with these Super Stars.
TWO GREATS - TED WILLIAMS & JOE DIMAGGIO
Joe DiMaggio Hit in 56 Consecutive Games and the Incredible Ted Williams hit .406 - during the Incredible 1941 baseball season. No professional Baseball Players, in 60 Years, have come Remotely Close to Breaking Either of these Seemingly Unobtainable Records. On a Single Baseball, Illustrated above, and showing All Three Historic Figures, is the Signature of the President George Bush dated 7-9-1991. On the Sweet Spot is the Signature of Ted “The Splinter” Williams and on Another Panel is the Signature of “Jolten” Joe DiMaggio.
GEORGE BUSH - CAPTAIN OF THE YALE BASEBALL TEAM AND PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
The Major League Baseball (Pictured at top), was Signed at The White House by All Three Greats, with this being the Only Baseball Actually Dated by President George Bush, on that Historic Day of July 9, 1991.
The person that made this possible to be in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx (a.k.a.) The American Heritage Collection, had close daily contact with the Oval Office. The Trio Baseball was presented to Mr. Amyx not long after this important 50th Anniversary meeting. The next day, The President awarded both Ted Williams and Joe Dimaggio, America's highest civilian honor - The Presidential Medal of Freedom. Soon this important piece of American and baseball history, may be made available to another noted collector - in that it has now been in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx for two decades.

In 1967, Historian & Collector, Raleigh DeGeer Amyx was on Another Virginia Country-Side Venture In and Around Appomattox; the Site of the Surrender of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia; Commanded by General Robert E. Lee to Union General Ulysses S. Grant. Circumstances Graced Mr. Amyx with an Opportunity to meet a Three Generation Former Slave Family. Their Forefathers were once Owned by a Prominent Virginia Slave-Owning Family. It was During an Extended Exchange with that once Slave Family that Mr. Amyx was Gifted with the Impressive Sculpture just below.
THE IMPOSING - "NOBLEWOMAN" - BY A GIFTED BUT UNKNOWN ARTIST - CIRCA 1825
As it turned out, this Dramatic Piece had Once Been the Property of the Virginia Slave Owners. The Slave Family had Removed it from the Slave Owner’s Ante-Bellum Mansion as the Union Army began to Quickly Encompass the Appomattox Area in 1865. The Ever-Loyal Slave Family had Stored the Sculpture in the Attic area above their Slave Quarters. At the time, Mr. Amyx was Gifted the Sculpture, there were Numerous Mud Dauber’s Nests in and around the Multiple Crevices of this Splendid Piece. When Mr. Amyx arrived Home in the D.C. Area of Virginia, he hurriedly took the Sculpture to the shower. After ten minutes, all the Dirt and Mud that had Accumulated on this Elegant Piece over a 102 Year Period of Time Finally Concluded its run to and through the shower’s drain. The Sculpture was Suddenly Transformed into the Captivating Elegance which appears above.
A VIVID CLOSE-UP OF THE BEAUTIFUL FACIAL DETAILS OF "NOBLEWOMAN" - CIRCA 1828
Later, Mr. Amyx had this Beautiful Piece Examined at the National Portrait Gallery (the Mellon Art Gallery – Pictured below) in Washington D.C. Experts Employed by the Gallery made Copious Notes, Examined and Photographed; and attributed the Sculpture to an unknown Artist, of Extraordinary Talent, in the Mediterranean Area (circa 1815-1830).
THE NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY - WASHINGTON, D.C.
Neither National Portrait Gallery Expert had ever seen another Example like it. A young Mr. Amyx was More Than Appropriately Pleased. Accordingly, he has Pridefully Displayed this Exquisite Example in his Home, since 1967. And that was some 44 years ago. In the near future, this Impressive piece of Art, from The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection, will be shared with an Institution or another collector of note. It is Important to consider the long term preservation of such an historic piece of art.

A Majestic White House piece of China once owned and used by President James Monroe and First Lady Elizabeth Monroe has finally been located. This is an extremely rare Presidential Dessert Plate once in the Official White House China Collection - Presently in The Collection of Raleigh Degeer Amyx.
JAMES MONROE'S MAJESTIC WHITE HOUSE DESSERT PLATE
Pictured above is an 8.625" Dessert Plate – French; manufactured by Dagoty and Honore' - Nast Paris. Some attribute this Stunning Plate to Andrew Jackson. Recent investigation concludes that this is not so. After careful research, especially by Robert McNeil and Susan Gray Detweiler, this rendering is more aptly related to the James Monroe Administration – Why? Because the important Mark on the verso of the plate (shown below) was used only during the years 1816-1820 - thus, James Monroe and not Andrew Jackson, as this stunning pattern was so often credited to.
VERSO MARKING OF THE JAMES MONROE WHITE HOUSE SERVICE
Other important points clearly establish the blue bordered service as coming from James and Elizabeth Monroe. Two cups matching this exact same service are currently at the Monroe Museum in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Also in the Monroe Museum is further Provenance of ownership, indicating that it came directly to them via descendants of President and Mrs. Monroe. Also, pieces emanating from two other different Public Collections share a common Provenance through Descendants of Daniel Webster. These are specifically identified as the White House Service having belonged to Elizabeth and James Monroe.
MAJESTIC EAGLE CENTERED ON THE WHITE HOUSE CHINA OF AMERICA'S LAST FOUNDING FATHER - JAMES MONROE
PRESIDENT JAMES MONROE OF VIRGINIA - THE LAST OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS
Today, this Historically Important piece of Presidential Porcelain, once used in The White House, is in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx, also known as The American Heritage Collection. By far, most President's did not order Official White House China for The Executive Mansion. They simply made due with the beautiful patterns left there by other Presidents and First Ladies. Thus, White House China, actually used within The White House for Offical purposes, remains one of the rarest and most sought after pieces of History of our Nation's American Heritage.

Whatever happened to FDR's Holy Bible from World War II? Well, this is a Relic of the Highest Magnitude in that it was a personal possession of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Not only that, F.D.R. had taken the time to include his own Personal Bookplate, which he attached to the inside cover.
THE HOLY BIBLE OF PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT - MONOGRAMMED IN GOLD WITH F.D.R.'S NAME AS WELL AS THE DATE OF JULY 25, 1942 - ILLUSTRATED AT RIGHT IS F.D.R.'S PERSONAL BOOKPLATE.
Shown above is President Roosevelt's Holy Bible with FDR'S own name, " Franklin D. Roosevelt", Monogrammed in Gold – with an Imposing World War II Date of 1942.
F.D.R. SHORTLY BEFORE HIS PASSING AWAY IN WARM SPRINGS, GEORGIA ON APRIL 12, 1945
Shortly after the President suddenly passed away on April 12, 1945, while in Warm Springs, Georgia, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, directed that a few favored few White House Staff Members be Summoned. This Pesonal Invitation included longtime employee, Lillian Rogers Parks. She walked into the Executive Mansion bedroom. Some of FDR's personal effects have been carefully laid out on the bed by the First Lady. Mrs. Roosevelt said, "take what you want now; because the rest is going to Hyde Park and you will never ever have another chance".
TRUSTED WHITE HOUSE EMPLOYEE, LILLIAN ROGERS PARKS WITH FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT'S VERY OWN 1942 HOLY BIBLE
Among other things, Lillian Rogers Parks, a favored Maid and Seamstress of 12 F.D.R's White House years, was given FDR's Holy Bible. On April 12, 1983, (42 years later to the day), Mrs. Parks (pictured below holding F.D.R.'s Holy Bible) presented it to The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection (AKA) The American Heritage Collection--accompanied with detailed written Provenance of the Highest Order. Lillian Rogers Parks and Mr. Amyx were close friends over a period of many years. Mrs. Parks had served at The White House for a total 30 years......through the entire Administrations of President's Herbert Hoover, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman and Dwight David Eisenhower.
F.D.R. - AT HIS HYDE PARK HOME - THE PRESIDENT IN A MOMENT OF REFLECTION
Prior to that, Lillian Rogers Parks' Mother, Maggie Rogers, had served at the White House during the Administrations of President Taft, Harding, Coolidge, Hoover and Roosevelt. When Lillian Rogers Parks passed away at the age of 101, Raleigh DeGeer Amyx was asked to be a Pallbearer at her Funeral. It was the final parting of two dear friends....Parks and Amyx.
While this rare personal possession of President Franklin D. Roosevelt (his own Holy Bible) is in the current Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx, where it has been for nearly 30 years, the time is coming when it must be shared with an Institution or another Colllector of note. It is important that a piece of such historic merit be protected for future Generations of Americans.

Featured is the President's own Christmas Tool Chest ,as received in 1959, by Dwight D. Eisenhower. The President is shown below, barbecuing Steaks - which was something Ike did Regularly within as well as out of The White House. Ike’s Valet, Sergeant John Moaney, is shown Assisting the General. The were a common duo and the pair of them were usually seen within the same proximity.
PRESIDENT EISENHOWER GRILLS HIS OWN STEAKS - ASSISTED BY THE EVER LOYAL - SERGEANT JOHN MOANEY.
A MOST HANDSOME CHRISTMAS PRESENT - FOR PRESIDENT EISENHOWER - FROM HIS FAITHFUL VALET SGT. JOHN MOANEY
John Moaney was Eisenhower’s Virtual Shadow from 1942 to 1969
(27 years). Sometime during 1959, the Ever-Faithful John Moaney and his Wife Delores - Eisenhower’s Personal Cook for more than a Quarter-Century - gave heartfelt thought to what they felt would be the Perfect Christmas Gift for the Commander in Chief. Sergeant Moaney then came up with the Idea of having The White House Carpenters Hand-Make, from Wood within the White House Carpentry Shop, the above large Tool Chest (34"x16"x18"). It resulted in being something more like the quality of a splendid piece of furniture. Sergeant John Moaney then came up with the Idea of having a Large Handsome Heavy Brass Plaque Permanently Affixed to the top of the Tool Chest. What you are seeing above is that Tool Chest, with the Plaque, for the President, featured on the lower left portion of the photo.
In the next photograph, take Special Note of a December 26, 1959 Letter, on Official White House Stationary – To ‘Delores and Moaney’ from the President. Read each and every word of the December 1959 Presidential letter, because it Reveals the Warmth of the President as he so thoughtfully, immediately following Christmas, takes Pen to Hand and Signs off on this thoughtful Christmas Gift. When the Commander in Chief Passed Away in 1969, the Tool Chest was gifted back to the Sgt. Moaney, with some of Ike's own tools. Sergeant John Moaney and Delores Moaney retained it, along with the Original 1959 Letter from the President, until all of the above was Presented to The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection in the early 1980s.

Sometime during 1959, the Ever-Faithful John Moaney and his Wife Delores (Eisenhower’s Personal Cook for more than a Quarter-Century) Gave Thought to what they felt would be the Perfect Christmas Gift for the Commander in Chief. Featured above is that Special Gift to the General - Large Tool Chest (34"x16"x18"). Sergeant Moaney then, thoughtfully, came up with the idea of having a Large Handsome Heavy Brass Plaque Permanently Affixed to the top of the President's Tool Chest.

Pictured above is an Unpublished Photo of Ike and Mamie in their Backyard at their Home in Gettysburg. By Reading the Inscription, one gets a Glimpse into the High Regard the Eisenhower’s held for the Moaney’s. The Inscription Reads...
“To: Delores and Sergeant John Moaney with
the lasting Appreciation and Affectionate Regard
of their Old Friends – Dwight D. Eisenhower and Mamie Dowd Eisenhower”.
For the past 25 plus years the President's, quality Tool Chest - more like a piece of furniture when see in person - has been in The Collection of Raleigh DeGeer Amyx (a.k.a.) During World War II General Dwight D. Eisenhower sometimes wore a Handsome Leather Jacket while living at Telegraph Cottage, 15 Miles South of London. That was his Headquarters while in Command of the European Theater. Fortunately this Rare Historical World War 11 Relic has been located. It is now in the The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection AKA The American Heritage Collection.
GENERAL DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER-IN 1944-IN WORLD WAR II LEATHER JACKET
General Eisenhower's WWII Leather Jacket is a relic of Significant Magnitude. Little known is the fact that Eisenhower was a Four-Star General for a period of 17 months during World War II. For the final 7 months of this World Conflict Ike was a Five-Star General. At that time the Four-Star leather Jacket went to The General's Valet, Sgt. Moaney. There is no evidence, as of this writing, that it was ever replaced with a Five-Star Leather Jacket for the final 7 Months of furious warfare. It is possible, although Sgt. Moaney could not recall that event.
PRESIDENT EISENHOWER & SGT. JOHN MOANEY BARBECUE TOGETHER - THEY WERE TOGETHER DAILY FROM 1942 -1969
It has now been revealed that Eisenhower's World War II Leather Jacket was presented, nearly 30 years ago, to Mr. Amyx by the Moaney's. Impeccable Provenance, in the form of a detailed Letter, on White House Stationery, was addressed to Raleigh DeGeer Amyx, attesting to all historic details many years ago. Specifically, The Leather Jacket came from Sgt. Moaney and Delores Moaney, who was not only married to Sgt. Moaney, but was also the Eisenhower's personal cook. In fact, the Eisenhower's were so fond of the Moaney's that following the 8 years they spent together in The White House both Sgt. Moaney and Dolores Moaney were invited to move, with the family to Gettysburg farm, the retirement home of the Eisenhower's. This did occur following the Inauguration of John Fitzgerald Kennedy on January 20, 1961.
GENERAL EISENHOWER'S WORLD WARII LEATHER JACKET WITH 4 HAND-SWEN BOUILLION STARS ON EACH EPAULET--THE PRESIDENT'S BINOCULARS REST AT LEFT SIDE
General Eisenhower, upon his death in 1969, also left Sgt. Moaney his handsome 18 Karat Gold Rolex as well as a cash distribution as an additional token of his affection. From 1942, until the President's death in 1969, Sgt. John Moaney was with Ike daily. Years before the President's death, Eisenhower authored a book entitled At Ease; and, in that book he thoughtfully described Moaney as a man indispensable to him during his lifetime. They were Inseperable.
Although this Supreme & Historic World War II Relic is presently in The American Heritage Collection (a.k.a.) The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection, there will soon come a time when the location of it is most likely moved in the direction of - another noted collector or to an Institution devoted to the memory of General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
