Ike's Rolex was located recently. This 18K Gold Rolex may very well be the most Important time-piece on the Planet. It was worn by President Eisenhower, almost daily, throughout his 1953-1960 Tenure as Commander in Chief - at The White House. However, this Presidential Rolex was actually presented to General Eisenhower while he was the NATO Commander in 1950.

This was an important presentation on the part of Rolex in that this Rolex was the 150,000th Rolex ever manufactured by them. The 100,000th Rolex had previously been presented to Sir Winston Churchill. Therefore, Rolex obviously considered certain Manufacturing Milestone's as being of major significance. In addition the present day terminology - "Presidential Rolex" - is believed to have been taken from the historic fact that General Eisenhower was the first President to ever wear such a distinctive timepiece.

The Five-Stars and all Hand-Engraving was accomplished after consultation by Rolex with General Eisenhower. The Engraving was done by a highly skilled artist, in Switzerland, as determined by Rolex. This was just prior to the presentation of the time-piece to General Eisenhower, on December 19, 1950.

General Dwight David Eisenhower wore this Rolex from the time of its 1950 Presentation until his death in 1969. Before his death, President Eisenhower saw to it that it was given to his longtime Aide and Valet - Sgt. John Moaney. In a Book, Authored by President Eisenhower, entitled "At Ease - Stories I Tell To Friends", Eisenhower described Moaney as a man indispensable to him during his life-time. An Exalted measure of praise for his friend and confidant from the time of their World War 11 1942 meeting until Ike's Death in 1969. Ike and Moaney were with each other daily for 27 consecutive years.

Sgt. John Moaney was married to Dolores Moaney, the Cook for Mamie and Dwight D. Eisenhower, for over 30 years. When Sgt. Moaney, unfortunately, passed away from Cancer, about 1981, this important piece of history was presented to a trusted friend of the Moaney's, Mr. Amyx. - for inclusion into The Raleigh DeGeer Amyx Collection (a.k.a.) as The American Heritage Collection. In the not too distant future this historic piece will be shared with an institution or another collector of note.
