Harry Houdini (1874-1926) – Born Erich Weiss, Houdini was a Jewish-Hungarian-American Magician and Escape Artist. He was also a Stunt Performer, Actor and Film Producer, as well as Skeptic and Investigator of the Spiritualists. Houdini Immigrated to America at the Age of 4 and the First Time he became Houdini was when he Registered for the Selective Service of the Armed Forces in 1918.

Because of Dwindling Audiences, by 1908, Houdini put his “Handcuff Act” behind him and began Escaping from a Locked Water-Filled Milk Can. This Possibility of Failure and Death Seemed to Thrill his Audiences. From there, Houdini began to Expand his Challenging Escape Acts by Inviting the Audience to Devise Multiple Contraptions for which the Police were invited to assist in Restraining Him.

Houdini’s Untimely Death has been the Topic of Much Folklore: Actually Houdini's Burst Appendix was Not Caused by an Earlier Blow to his Stomach, Nor did he Collapse on Stage. Whatever the Actual Cause of his Demise, the World Lost the Greatest Magician Entertainer Of All Time.
